Dr. Thomas McMurran, Owner/Dentist
As a dentist, I love the challenge of making dental experiences as close to fun as possible. I enjoy getting to know my patients and try to create an environment where everyone can feel comfortable and relaxed. I work with patients of all ages, from children to seniors, with a particular interest in family dentistry, pediatrics, wisdom teeth, Implants, and Cosmetic procedures.
Becoming a dentist was my childhood dream. Before opening my own practice here in Fonthill, I was fortunate to work alongside my childhood dentist who inspired me to pursue dentistry and encouraged me along my career path. I think this is why I’m so passionate when it comes to educating patients about their oral health.
Education & Continuing Education
I completed my Doctor of Dental Surgery at University of Toronto and my Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Psychology from Western University. I also studied anxiety disorders at McMaster University, achieving a Master of Science in Neurobiology and Behaviour. Many people feel anxious about going to the dentist, and my education has been invaluable in providing me with an in-depth understanding of their experience.
I strive to be the best dentist I can be, staying on the cutting edge of the latest trends and techniques within the field. I complete many hours of continuing education courses each year that advance my professional skills and allow me to bring the best care to my patients. I received a Fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, which enforces rigid standards and qualifications for placing implants.
Outside the Office
When I’m not in the office, I love hiking the Bruce Trail with my wife Jessica and two sons Nicolas and Gabriel, and playing with the family dog, Louie, an energetic puggle. Unless Toronto FC is playing, then you’ll find me at the soccer field!
